App of the Week: Microsoft OneNote

OneNote  What is it: Cloud based note taking app from Microsoft  How I use it: I use it to keep track of my daily musings, notes, I use it as my agenda keeper for the day. I keep long term goals here, and I also keep notes from the courses I’m taking. You can create checklists, keep blogs/diaries, you can keep graphs and PDF’s, images and more. It’s the only app that consistently works for me in every platform I use it on MacOS, Windows, and my iPhone.   Do I recommend it? Absolutely love this app. Some could argue...

App of the Week: Travello

What is it: Social networking app for travelers.   How I use it: Traveling to multiple countries a year, the idea of visiting a locale I’ve never been to before – say Central Europe – and arranging to meet up with people who are going to be there at the same time to meet up so that it feels like I’m traveling with friends all along is very appealing. That’s exactly what happened in April 2019 when I was taking a tour from Vienna to Bratislava to Budapest. I used the Travello app to post an upcoming trip...

App of the Week: Sleep Cycle

Sleep Cycle  What is it: A smarter alarm clock with emphasis on analyzing your sleep  How I use it:  Sleep Cycle is an app that works by following your sleep patterns and cycles to help wake you up at better time intervals than a regular alarm. It’s also much gentler.   I use this in tandem with Sleepyti.me which is a website/app that tells me when the optimal time is for me to go to bed and or wake up based on when I went to bed. The idea is that our body works in sleep-cycles – four...

From Netflix to CEO | How Kate Catlin, the CEO of Flock, is building the future of networking

I first met Kate at the screening of the documentary Generation Startup, at the University of Denver.  My understanding is that this film is now available on Netflix by the way. But at the time I wasn’t thinking about any of that. I was watching this movie for the first time on the big screen I was intrigued at all the storylines that were playing out on screen. See the entire premise of the documentary is that filmmakers follow around a few different young entrepreneurs, hungry to make a name for themselves and create amazing companies...

Why I started The Millennial Entrepreneur Podcast

My name is Bryant Burciaga. I’ve dabbled working in everything from healthcare startups to the non-profit world of dinosaur bones and homelessness prevention (different jobs!). In all those instances I’ve always been passionate about helping people and using technology to aid that goal. In college, I did a triple emphasis in finance, management, and marketing for my business degree and I paid my way through by starting a company called Code and Vision that created websites for local businesses. But taking a look at the big picture, I’ve...

How to get a great professional headshot for cheap

A good professional headshot is extremely important because people judge you on your credibility online, and a nice picture can be the difference between someone actually opening a message/email from you or not even reading it. It can be a difference maker for people trying to start an online business or get hired. However, professional photographers can be expensive and may not know your “best angle”. So how do you remedy that? Do what I did: 1) Have a professional photographer at a business event take a few pictures of you. My...
